LAHORE - Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has said that efforts for unification of different factions of the Muslim Leagues will be sped up after Eidul Fitr.
Talking to this scribe on Monday, former Punjab governor said due to Ramzanul Mubarak and travelling of some leaders to Saudi Arabia for performing Umra, the pace of efforts to bring League factions closer and on one platform slowed down but these were not given up. Without specifically pinpointing what aims would the unified Muslim League strive to achieve, he said, first of all the purpose of joining Muslim League factions was to revive the same ideology of Muslim League which Quaid-e-Azam had envisioned and on the basis of which struggle for a separate homeland was launched and the objective achieved.
Khosa, who is highly offended by the policies and outlooks of the PML-N leadership towards the loyal party workers despite the fact he himself had long association with this party and was elected senator on its ticket, indicated that united Muslim League would get a shape some time after Eid. He also ruled out that their objective was not the ouster of the government or anyone else but to revive the real Muslim League having strong foundation.
He said rising above the party attachment and affiliation they would welcome anyone who struggled for the creation of Pakistan and was still adhering to the basic principles and ideology of the League.
“The present PML-N by no means reflects true Muslim League, and objective of unification of Leagues is agglomeration of faithful Leaguers at one platform than merely picking up electables which has been the fashion with N-League.”
Khosa said the PML-N government at present was conspicuous by the presence of a number of ministers and aides who once were the loyal to former military ruler Pervez Musharraf and the N-leadership repelled them.
“So where is the ideology and principles of the PML-N?” he questioned.
The PML-N, he said, was rudderless and stood for a party which was being abused by a group to stay in power by fair or foul means so that the spree of looting and plundering of the national money could continue.
Speaking in the context of plundering of the national wealth, Sardar Zulfiqar strongly criticised the government for prioritising such projects which could yield monetary benefits for the rulers. He said the government had constructed Rawalpindi/Islamabad Metro Bus spending Rs 42 billion when the fact was that no medicines were available to the poor at hospitals, no clean water for the people and no employment. Moreover the substandard construction of the Pindi Metro was fully exposed by a single rain of the Monsoon, he added.
Sardar Khosa said the PPP and the PML-N partnership to protect each other to let them do corruption had badly damaged the country.
“Where is the resolve of Shahbaz Sharif to drag Asif Ali Zardari on the roads for his corruption and take out the looted money from his tummy,” he posed adding, those were merely hollow claims. The veteran leader from Dera Ghazi Khan said next Metro construction was going to take place in Multan while the people of Multan did not want Metro but clean water, healthcare, education and employment for the people of South.
To a question that if findings of the Judicial Commission on the PTI allegation of election rigging could bring any change , he said it was premature to say anything at this stage.
Sardar Khosa did not comment when asked about the prediction made by his son Dost Muhammad Khosa that some major political change was going to take place in next 10 days.
