LAHORE  -  The City received scattered showers on Friday with experts predicting more monsoon rains during the next couple of days.

Patches of clouds, strong winds and rains caused decrease in the mercury level, providing relief to the people from the prevailing muggy weather. 29mm rain was recorded at Airport and 09mm at Jail Road Observatory.

The relief, however, was short lived as high humidity after the rains made the weather sultry that caused the people to sweat profusely.

Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 32 degree Celsius and 24C respectively.

According to the experts, seasonal low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending southeastward. Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating upper parts of the country and likely to continue in coming days. A westerly wave lies over northern parts of the country.

Meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of rains for Lahore during the next couple of days.

More rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Kashmir and Gujranwala division and at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Zhob divisions, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
