LAHORE - Qilla Gujjar Singh Police have nominated Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud in the FIR of Gharri Shahu incident in which top religious scholar Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi was martyred amongst others. The FIR was got registered by Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, son of Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi, under Sections 302, 324, 120-B, 109, 427 of PPC and 3/4 Explosive Act of 7ATA. Complainant Raghib Hussain Naeemi stated in the FIR that his father Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi was leading 'Save Pakistan Movement (Pakistan Bechao Tehreek) to build public opinion against Taliban involved in killing innocent citizens of our country and in favour of Pakistan Army who had launched vigorous operation to uproot these elements from the country. He said that his father had also been receiving life threats by unknown terrorists during this movement. He further stated in the FIR that his father was present at his Jaamia Naeemia office after Jumma prayers along with his colleagues and students namely Abdul Rehman, Hafiz Muhammad Akmal, Rashid Hussain, Muhammad Ismaeel, Khalil Ahmad and Muhammad Majeed. While two other students Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Irshad were also present in the mosque when all of sudden a 17-year-old unknown youth entered the mosque from its main gate at around 2:40pm. The youth then rushed to the office where Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi was present along with other colleagues and blew himself up after reaching near the door of the said office. Resultantly, his father Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi and Abdul Rehman martyred at the spot while Hafiz Muhammad Akmal, Rashid Hussain, Muhammad Ismaeel, Khalil Ahmad, Majeed and Muhammad Nawaz injured critically. Building of the mosque and Jaamia Naeemia also damaged in the suicide attack. Dr Raghib Hussain further stated that his father was strongly criticising Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leaders for their involvement in anti-Pakistan activities and for killing innocent people. He said his father had also declared suicide bombings and terrorists attack by the said banned militant organisation un-Islamic acts. The leaders of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were not happy over the activities of his father in this regard. My father and other innocent people were martyred by the terrorists in Jaamia Naeemia suicide attack on the backing of banned militant organisation Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan leader Baitullah Mehsud and his other accomplices, he stated in the FIR.
