I on behalf of the residents of a locality of Rawalpindi called Dhok Kashmiriyan wrote letters to editors of a number of newspapers requesting for a letterbox for our area. To my wonder, only a few days after, the people of the locality saw a letterbox erected in their area. They started asking each other how it happened that a government department responded to a public demand so quickly. We later came to know that it was due to the personal interest taken by Mr. Tariq Faiz Piracha, a retired Post Master General of Rawalpindi who interceded on our behalf with his present colleagues at the GPO Rawalpindi. This example should be followed by other departments as well. -SYED MUZAMMIL HUSSAIN, Rawalpindi, via e-mail, June 3.
