RAWALPINDI - Investigation has been launched against a telephone operator of regional police officer (RPO) office, who was first dismissed from police service on charges of harassing a woman and was later reinstated by showing fake orders to city police officer (CPO).

Constable Imran Nazir, the telephone operator, did not surrender after being punished, as he sent fake orders of his reinstatement as well as threatening letter to the lady on whose complaint he was kicked out from service in a bid to terrorise her.

Jamila Khatoon, wife of Habib Ullah Butt, resident of Rawalpindi, told media on Friday that Constable Imran, deputed at RPO Office as telephone operator, used to threat and harass her on which she lodged a complaint with police station. After thorough inquiry, the constable was dismissed from police service and a case (106/12 under sections 506, 25-D TAG) was registered against him with Police Station Sadiqabad on February 14, 2014.

The case was being tried when Imran presented fake evidences before an inquiry committee and managed to get a clean chit, besides having cancellation orders of his dismissal undersigned by the then RPO Capt (Retd) Muhammad Zubair. The lady informed that the constable showed fake orders to the CPO who reinstated him.

“After getting his job back, Imran has posted me a threatening letter,” she said. She added that her life was in danger and demanded of CM and IG Punjab to provide her justice.

The CPO, reportedly, ordered for investigations into the incident.
