ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif Friday stressed the need for more Chinese companies to invest in the country as it was need of the hour to revitalize Pakistan’s economy through bringing investment here.
The Prime Minister was talking to delegations from Chinese State Engineering Corporation and China Power Company which called on him at the PM House. He told the delegations that the government would facilitate the Chinese companies in their ventures in Pakistan. Chinese delegation from Chinese State Engineering Corporation apprised the Prime Minister of their interest in different infrastructure projects in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister appreciated the role played by the Chinese State Engineering Corporation in building of infrastructure projects all over the world. The development of infrastructure was part and parcel for the vibrant economy of the country, he added.
Delegation from China Power described the different ventures undertaken by the company in infrastructure and development projects in Pakistan. The Prime Minister was informed that POWERCHINA was playing an active part in the energy aspect of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor including two 660-MW power plants in Port Qasim and Gadani. They also lauded the government’s efforts in vitalizing the economy of Pakistan.
The China Power delegation comprised of Liu Mingjiang, Chief Economist Power China, Wu Wenhao, President Power China, Pang Xu, Division Chief Power China Overseas and delegation of Chinese State Engineering Corporation comprised of Chen Guo Cai, Vice President CSCEC CEO Overseas operation, Yi Wen Quan, President of 3rd Bureau and Zhang Xiao Jian, Vice President 3rd Bureau from and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Mastitic Malik, Mrs. Nargis Sethi, Secretary Water And Power, Javed Aslam,Secretary to the Prime Minister and Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Chairman NHA from Pakistan’s side attended the meeting.
