Rawalpindi - Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Rawal Town under its grand anti-encroachment operation on Saturday confiscated six truckloads goods of 70 encroachers while fines were also imposed on 48 shopkeepers.
According to PRO, TMA, Rawal Town, the staff concerned under the supervision of Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Mir Akmal, Town Officer Regulation (TOR) Malik Toseef Ahmed and Superintendent Pervaiz Mughal conducted raids at several markets and roads including Liaquat Road,
Iqbal Road, Raja Bazaar, Bara Bazaar, Jamia Masjid Road, Commercial
Market and other adjoining roads and confiscated goods of 70 encroachers while fines were also imposed on those found indulged in encroachments. He said, on the directive of Administrator Rawal Town, Imran Qureshi, the enforcement staffs is conducting raids on daily basis and action in accordance with the law is being taken against the rules violators.
He informed that all the arrangements for the auction of the confiscated goods have also been finalized.
Meanwhile, Town Municipal Administration (TMA), Rawal Town will hold an anti-dengue walk on Monday to create awareness among general public about dengue fever.
People from different walks of life including TMA staff will participate in the walk, to be arranged on the directives of Punjab government.
The walk will start from TMA, Rawal Town Office and culminate at Liaquat Bagh Chowk.
According to Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Rawal Town, on the directive of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, anti-dengue campaign in Rawal Town under the supervision of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dall and Administrator Rawal Town, Imran Qureshi, has been accelerated.
He informed that special awareness campaign to distribute pamphlets among the citizens would be started soon in all Union Councils of Rawal Town as all the arrangements have been finalized. Under the campaign, banners will also be displayed at important points in the town aimed at creating awareness among the general public.
He said, all available resources would be utilized in accordance with the vision of CM Punjab to eradicate the dengue. The citizens should maintain cleanliness in and around their houses, he added.
