Islamabad - Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police has arrested four proclaimed offenders, wanted to police for their alleged involvement in a dacoity case, a police spokesman said yesterday.

A specially-constituted team headed by DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon succeeded to arrest four proclaimed offenders later identified as Tahir, Yusuf, Nazir and Munawar Khan.

During the preliminary investigation, the accused have confessed to take away 5,000 litres crude oil from a tanker. They revealed that they portrayed themselves as police officials before the driver Gul Nawaz, took him in their vehicle on motorway and released him after for hours. Further investigation is under way.
