Rawalpindi - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 1.16 tons of narcotics during operations against drug mafia in several parts of the country, informed ANF Headquarters spokesman yesterday. He added that the ANP also arrested 12 drug traffickers, including 4 lady smugglers. The worth of recovered drug is Rs 7.6 billion in the international market, he said. According to him, ANF has launched 11 operations and seized huge cache of narcotics weighing 1.16 tons. The seized drugs included 1.147 tons heroin, 17-kg hashish and 2.4-kg opium.

The ANF also arrested 12 persons including 4 ladies involved in drug smuggling during the operations. These operations were carried out at Rawalpindi, Attock, Nowshera, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Karachi and Pishin, he said. He said that ANF registered separate cases against the detainees and started investigation.
