PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday will present provincial budget with total outlay of more than Rs 496 billion along with 161 billion rupees for annual development program for fiscal year 2016-17.

Out of the 161 billion rupees of ADP, provincial resources of the ADP will be Rs 113 billion, Rs 20 billion loans have been proposed from Khyber Bank and Asian Developmental Bank while Rs 35 billion foreign aid and loans have been included in the upcoming budget.

Due to non-provision of funds from the federal government and in head of Net Hydal profit and NFC, government will rely on loans.

In developmental program for the upcoming financial years, 512 new schemes have been included.

The provincial government will allocate huge funds for 400 smart schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Allocation will also be made for gems and Gemological institute to promote the business of precious stones and mines. A special institute will be established for this purpose to refine the stone.

Sources said that said efforts have been made to give relief to the common people in the upcoming budget. Funds have been allocated for construction of schools, roads and hospitals in the upcoming budget while huge allocation have been made for education and law order for completion of the damaged check posts and police station across the province.

Provincial Finance Minister Muzafar Syed will present the budget at 4pm on Tuesday in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
