RAWALPINDI - PML-N disgruntled stalwart and former federal minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the gulf between him and ex-premier Mian Nawaz Sharif widened to a dangerous level after he tried to stop the former party chief from launching tirade against the judiciary and other important institutions of the country.

“The clash between me and Mian Nawaz Sharif was only that I don’t want to become part of the crusade launched by Mian Nawaz Sharif against top courts and other institutions and even I often tried to bar Nawaz Sharif from doing so. I am firmed on my stance even today,” he said.

Mian Nawaz Sharif, who was opposing women rule in 1988, now wants to give Mayram Nawaz Sharif the command of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Nisar added. Nawaz Sharif should review his policies, he advised.

“Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of Mian Nawaz Sharif, is not capable for what she is being tried to hand over,” Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said this while addressing a corner meeting at Al-Rehman Marriage Hall in Haraka on Chakbeli Khan Road here on Wednesday.

The meeting, which was convened by a local leader of PML-N Aziz ur Rehman, was also attended by a handful number of local leaders, union council chairmen, vice chairmen, councillors and other close aides of former federal minister.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the upcoming general elections 2018 is not an easy task as all the parties have to work hard to win the political battle. He said N League has been awarding party tickets to those candidates who are unpopular and have never visited their relevant constituencies. “I am satisfied over my performance as I launched development schemes even at the union council level,” he added.

Nisar also asked his voters and supporters to launch door to door campaign to muster public support for upcoming general elections.

“I assure that you will not feel embracement rather you will be given respect during door to door campaign as I have done a lot of public welfare work in my constituencies,” he added.

Coming very hard on media, he said media attributed some statements to him what he never said in public. “Media is not invited by me in corner meetings and the journalists should mind their own business,” he added.

Chaudhry Nisar also announced he would kick off his election campaign formally by holding a mammoth public gathering at Chakri on June 18, 2108 at Chakri.

Meanwhile, nomination papers of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan were accepted by Returning Officer for contesting general elections 2018 from PP-10.

The RO approved nomination papers of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who will contest upcoming general elections as an independent candidate.

However, the RO reserved his verdict on nomination papers of Nisar for PP-12. During the proceeding, Muhammad Waqas Kiyani Advocate and Chaudhry Faizan Advocate appeared on behalf of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while Shahid Orakzai Advocate was argued before the court in favour of objections against Nisar.
