ISLAMABAD - Pakistan reported 1,239 new coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 941,170. The country’s death toll climbed to 21,689 after 56 more people succumbed to the deadly disease during the same period. Meanwhile, 1,610 patients recovered from the deadly disease in a day, taking total recoveries to 877,161. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), total active Covid-19 cases across the country were reported to be 42,290. According to the latest figures displayed on the National Coronavirus Dashboard of the NCOC, 36,368 Covid-19 tests were conducted across the country yesterday out of them 1,239 tested positive. The positivity ratio in Pakistan stood at 3.42 percent as on Sunday. As many as 2,661 patients were reported to be in critical condition. Punjab remained the worst hit province as the tally of infections reached 343,926 in the province. Sindh has reported 327,604 overall coronavirus infections, followed by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
