Diaz on pressure not to age

EX
LOS ANGELES -Cameron Diaz think women are not given ‘’permission’’ to age. The 41-year-old actress thinks society has a ‘’crazy’’ obsession with trying to stay youthful and she believes females in particular give one another a hard time about their looks as they get older.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey for her forthcoming OWN special ‘Cameron Diaz & Sharon Stone: Aging Gracefully’, she said: ‘’Women don’t allow other women to age gracefully. And we don’t give ourselves permission to age gracefully.’’
When Oprah says women are trying to be ‘’back there’’ in the past, Cameron agrees and went on to say people view her as a ‘’failure’’ for failing to halt the ageing process.
In an extract from the show posted on E! Online, she added: ‘’And they’re trying.. For me I feel like if I... it’s almost as if we have failed if we don’t remain 25 for the rest of our lives. Like we are failures. It’s a personal failure.
‘’Like our fault that at 40 years old that I still don’t look like I’m 25.’’
‘’Oh, I’m sorry. I apologise. ‘’I wasn’t able to defy nature.’’
Elsewhere in the show, Sharon, 56, spoke of her philosophy of feeling beautiful.
She said: ‘’We have to have internal health and internal wellness. And I think that’s physical health, mental health, spiritual health. You know, I think it’s a sense of ethics. It’s everything.
