ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday said that the government’s economic reforms and sustained efforts have placed Pakistan on development track.
“Our policies have made Pakistan a lucrative place for the foreign investors”, he added. The Prime Minister said this while talking to a delegation of Chinese company Gezhouba Group, led by its president Nie Kai, which called on him here at the PM House. He said that Pakistan provides ample investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure and other sectors of economy. The Prime Minister told that his government has investment friendly policies and it would like the investors from across the world including Chinese should invest in Pakistan. President of the Chinese Company, Nie Kai, which is working on Neelum-Jhelum power generation project, briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of project and assured him that the project will be completed in its stipulated time. Nie Kai appreciated the investment policies of the government and told the Prime Minister that his company was interested in investment in Gadani Power Project, Dasu Power Generation Project and Cement industry.
He said that they were encouraged by the support and assistance provided by the government of Pakistan in this respect. The Prime Minister appreciated the investment plans by the company and said that the government will provide all facilities to the investors. He told that the government has prioritized power sector and would welcome the private as well as international investors in this sector. The development in infrastructure was also one of government’s priority areas and the Chinese company may also consider investment in this sector, the Prime Minister told Mr Nei Kai. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Special Assistant to the PM, Tariq Fatmi were also present in the meeting.
