PESHAWAR - Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director Squash and former star Mohibullah Khan has said that Pakistani children and youngsters have great potential in the field of squash and serious efforts are being made to polish this hidden talent.
He said this while distributing squash kits among the players selected for training after trials here Thursday at Pakistan Sports Board Squash Academy Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Coaches Pervaiz Ali, Shehzad Mohib, Adil Khan and Mst Rabia were present on the occasion. During the trials eight players were selected for the training including Ibrahim Mohib Khan, Salman, Jawad Khan and Khushal Riaz Khan. These players after completing training at the academy will be sent to different categories of squash competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohibullah said that following directives of PSB Director General Dr Nawaz Ganjera, efforts were on for development of the game so that country could rule again in this field and bring back the lost glories. “Establishment of squash academy was a major step towards strengthening and development of the game in the country.”
Inaugurating new session of training in the academy, Mohibullah stressed upon the players to work hard with dedication and zeal during their training period so that they were not only prepared for the upcoming tough matches but could also earn victories and laurels for the country.
