POs gun down two on denying extortion

Ten persons including two women were killed and 12 others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and other mishaps over the past 24 hours.
According to details, in Jhang, the conductor of a passenger van was killed in a mishap occurred on Jhang-Faislaabad Road near railway crossing. The incident took place when a Jhang-bound passenger van (RPT-6226) was coming from Faisalabad. As it reached near railway crossing, suddenly its gas cylinder burst with a bang due to which the van caught fire and overturned. Resultantly its conductor died on the spot while five other passengers sustained serious injuries. Later, Rescue 1122 officials reached the spot and took the injured to DHQ Hospital.
In another road mishap which took place on Jhang-Sargodha Road, a speeding passenger bus crushed to death a couple. According to available reports, Abdul Wahid along with his wife Razia Bibi, son Ehtisham Hassan and daughter Kajul were going on a bike. When they reached near Adda Sharienh, a speeding passenger bus, coming from opposite direction, hit the bike. Resultantly, Abdul Wahid and his wife Razia Bibi died on the spot while Ehtisham and Kajul received serious injuries and were admitted to DHQ hospital where there condition is stated to be stable.
Similarly, the Warryam Wala Police have recovered the dead body of an unidentified man from canal near Chak 492. The police have sent the body to DHQ Hospital Jhang for autopsy.
While an unidentified man gunned down his companion here in Chak 241/JB the other day. As per details, an unidentified man along with a woman came to Chak 241/JB on a bike. In the meanwhile, they started quarrelling during which the man shot at and killed her over unknown reasons. The police concerned have registered a case and started investigation to established identity of the deceased and reason behind the incident.
In Sargodha, a proclaimed offender gunned down a man and injured another here in the remit of Laksian Police on Thursday. As per details, six armed assailants led by proclaimed offender Nawaz opened fire on Nasir Nazir, father of four children including two handicapped in village Jala Makhdoom. Resultantly Nasir Nazir died on the spot while his mate Nawaz Gloter received bullet injuries. The accused fled the scene.
In another incident a teenager died and three others injured in a gas welding plant explosion here on University Road on Thursday. According to details, a young welder namely Shakir was busy with welding when the gas plant suddenly exploded with a big bang. Resultantly the shop totally destroyed while Shakir died on the spot and three other injured. The injured were rushed to DHQ hospital in critical condition.
Similarly, a youth was killed in a road accident and his mother sustained injuries on Thursday. Sixteen-year-old Aamir, a resident of village 96/NB was on the way back home with his sick mother after getting her medically examined. When they reached at 78 Bridge on Sargodha-Sillanwali Road, a recklessly driven tractor hit them. Resultantly Aamir breathed his last on the spot while his mother sustained injuries and was shifted to hospital.
Meanwhile, a train crushed two railway officials at railway station on Thursday. As per details, Noor Akbar and Shahid were busy unloading when the train suddenly moved. Resultantly both officials fell down on track. Both sustained critical wounds and were rushed to hospital.
In Bahawalnagar, the mutilated dead body of an unidentified man was found from River Sutlej, some 20-km away from Chishtian. According to the Shehr Farid Police, a mutilated dead body of an unidentified person was found near Bonga Jheduwan. The body was badly torn by animals and was shifted to Chishtian civil hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, in Sheikhupura, a proclaimed offender shot one Hamid dead in village Mehta Suja in the remit of Narang Mandi Police on Thursday. Two POs identified as Zeeshan and Zulfiqar came to the village and demanded Hamid to pay them extortion amount. However, on refusal, they shot Hamid dead. The Narang Police are looking into the matter.
