LAHORE- Pakistan Railways has planned to start an inter-city shuttle train service in major cities of Punjab with the cooperation of the provincial government. According to official sources‚ the train service will run on Lahore-Gujranwala‚ Lahore-Faisalabad‚ Lahore-Narowal-Sialkot and Lahore-Okara sections.

Pakistan Railways is also drawing an outline for the transportation of 12 million tons of coal for future power generation projects to be constructed at Jamshoro‚ Qadirabad‚ Sahiwal‚ Sundar and Faisalabad with Chinese cooperation to overcome the energy crisis. Pakistan Railways will also provide coal transport vans for power generation plants to be set up by the private sector.
