LAHORE  - The PAT has decided to send the audio and video tapes of Model Town incident and letters to the European Union and the World Human Rights Organization.

This was decided in a joint meeting of Pakistan Awami Tehreek leaders and lawyers chaired by party chairman Dr. Tahirul Qadri via video link from Canada here on Friday. The meeting also decided on March 22 a large demonstration would be held in Faisalabad against the incident.

The PAT chief asked different questions from the lawyers and leaders how to speed up the investigation of the incident. It was further decided to increase contact with human rights organizations and journalists in the country and appeal to increase the role in whatever manner they feel to provide justice to the families of those killed in the incident.

Dr Tahirul Qadri asked questions on the acquiring of the judicial commission report of the incident and was informed that the Punjab Government was playing a very negative role and was bent upon declaring the notification for the formation of the judicial commission it had formed itself as illegal.

Dr Qadri said that he knew from day one that till such time that the Shahbaz government was in place they would never be able to get justice and once the way opens for justice the world would see the necks of these rulers between the hangman’s rope. He lauded the statement of the Army Chief where he said that the war against terrorism would not end unless each and every terrorist is apprehended and terrorism is eliminated from the country.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the former minister Rana Sanaullah was removed for the office of Law ministry due to his involvement in the case but now he is the deputy chief minister and influencing the authorities in this case. The second person responsible for the killing Dr. Taqueer Shah has been rewarded for killing 14 people in the Model Town incident and has been posted abroad in the WTO.
