FAISALABAD

The three-day special round of anti polio campaign is starting today under the arrangements of Health Department.

More Than 1,296,000 children under 5 years of age would be administered polio vaccine drops in the district during this campaign, acting DCO Ejaz Khaliq Razzaqi. He inaugurated anti polio campaign at Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital.

Members of Punjab Assembly Haji Khalid Saeed, Madiha Rana, Medical Superintendent Dr. Hafiz Mukhtar Ahmad Randawa, acting EDO Health Dr Nawazish Goraya, District Coordinator Epidemics Dr. Bilal Ahmad and other officers of the Health Departments were also present.

The acting DCO urged upon the parents to get their children vaccinated during the anti polio campaign for complete eradication of polio virus in the country. He directed the department officers for effective monitoring of the campaign to achieve the 100% target. He directed polio teams be present on the static points of passengers transport stand, railway stations, airport, motorway interchanges, hospitals, recreational places and other public gathering sites. He appealed the parents for effective cooperation with health department for vaccinates their children. He said the polio control room has also been established at DCO office where any complaint about not reaching polio team would be resolved at once. MPAs Haji Khalid Saeed and Madiha Rana urged upon the polio teams to reach every child so that the polio campaign would be succeeded.

He said that all necessary arrangements are finalized to implement the campaign and total 2,958 polio teams would be mobilised during the campaign.
