KARACHI: Zamir Sheikh, bureau chief of The Nation, passed away on Wednesday night. He was 54 years old.

He started his career with daily Muslim in Hyderabad. He was working for The Nation, first as staff reporter and then as bureau chief, for the past 21 years.

The author of two books, What Went Wrong and Roshan Khayali Se Mulaiyat Tak, he was an active member of the National Students Federation (NSF) in his student days. 

The cause of his death is liver cancer. He has left behind a widow, three daughters and two sons.

Funeral Prayer of Zamir Sheikh will be offered after Zohar Prayer on Thursday at Masjid-e-Ghani, Block-21 Federal B area behind Lucky one Mall.
