ISLAMABAD - Joint Secretary Ministry of Sports Muhammad Anwar Khan has taken over the charge of the office of Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) on Tuesday, with effect from May 9 2008, a spokesman of PSB said here Tuesday. The PSB officials briefed him about the position in the country and the ongoing projects in various cities in the meeting. He was also informed about the national sports policy that had been approved by the federal cabinet on February 14, 2001. On this occasion, Muhammad Anwar Khan said: "It is a universally admitted fact that every elected government brings its own policy. However, under the rule 5.1 of business 1973, major policy decisions should be taken with the approval of the Prime Minister. According to rule 5.5, Sports Division shall be responsible for policy concerning the sports affairs," he said.   He further said: "Ministry of Sports has already submitted a proposal within due date to the Minister seeking his orders whether meeting of Task Force on implementation of Sports Policy should be held without a review by the newly elected government. The minister has to take decision in consultation with the Prime Minister," Anwar added. Anwar has worked in different ministries as section officer, deputy secretary, director general and joint secretary for the last 31 years. He has also been a diplomat in UN Kosovo mission in 2000-2001. He has his masters in development, administration degree from Western University Michigan. He has received extensive training in the field of administration and development from within the country and abroad which also includes prestigious Autonomy College of Tokyo, Japan.
