We want to divert the attention of the concerned authorities towards the serious problem of stray street dogs in Hayatabad, particularly in the phase II, whose residents are facing this problem for the last many months. Even in the daytime, it is difficult for the ladies, children and adults to move out freely for their daily activities of life. In the evening, the situation becomes worse. No government department has as yet shouldered the responsibility of removing these innumerable street dogs to the animal sanctuaries. With every passing day, the problem is becoming more acute. Many incidents of dog bites have already been reported to the local hospitals but the concerned authorities are either ignorant of the situation or simply turning a deaf ear to the public grievances. -RESIDENTS, Peshawar, via e-mail, April 28.
