Karachi (PPI) - Sindh Information Minister Ms. Shazia Marri has said that government was trying to create more job opportunities for solving the severe problem of unemployment faced by people of the province. This she said while talking to media at open katchehery held to address people's grievances at Bilawal House, here on Tuesday. Information Minister said the open katchehery is the tradition set by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and it is being held daily following the directives of PPP Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari who asked ministers to attend these for solving peoples grievances, besides at their offices. She mentioned that around 500 to 1000 people come here on daily basis. She said that a number of problems are faced by new government but unemployment was the biggest among them. "Although we have 40,000 vacant posts but we were trying to increase it by approaching private sectors at national and international levels because of the higher demand as compared to supply. To a question, she said," Not all employees but only the re-employed on contract basis would be sacked from their jobs to create more vacant places. Criticizing previous regimes she said that the many promises were made by it but were not fulfilled. "The problems created by last government are the big hurdles in the way of development of country. No foreign investments could come in the country since last 9 years because of the government policies. To a question she said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) ministers have been withdrawn from federal cabinet but not from treasury benches and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari still await their comeback. To another question she said that PPP government always wanted to restore judges, because PPP activists sacrificed their life for the reinstatement of deposed judges. About the news of threats to media personnel by Rehman Malik, she said it was not true. "PPP always supported media and raised voice for freedom of media," she added. Shazia Marri talking on up-coming budget said that the budget will be peoples budget and was being prepared by preferring peoples problem and will be providing relief to people. "From next year a pre-budget session will be called to take suggestion of people. We could not hold it now as we had no time for this. Provincial Minister also listened problems of people and suggested their solutions to them besides issuing orders to concerned authorities.
