Education system

There is no doubt that education plays an important role in development of the nation or country. Political stability and socio-economic progress is only possible through it. Education assumes all the more importance because it helps to aware people about their national and civic rights and duties. It is also pretty obvious that one of the biggest problems of Pakistan is its weak education system. According to experts poor education system is the major cause of political instability and economic backwardness in the country. Terrorism, which has shaken the very foundation of the country, is the end result of poor education system and poverty. Unfortunately, our education system is confronting with many problems like lack of funds, corruption and inefficient utilization of the funds. The private or elite institutions are very expensive and impart education following the western style. However, the governments education institutions have obsolete syllabus. Moreover the higher education institutions are not equipped to cope up with required standard of the job market. The stress is put on the subjective type of education and research is rarely done. The scrambling situation of the education is further aggravated by the governments ill-advised step to curtail 60% funds of Higher Education Commission, which has been performed well for last 5 years to promote education in the country. Many developing countries like Fareast Asian nations put great stress on research. The tumbling education system should be improved on a war footing; the government as well as civil society should take active part to uphold and promote education in the country. The need of the hour is to utilize the natural and human resources efficiently and effectively to develop the country. And in this regard standardized education could play active role.
