LAKKI MARWAT
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) candidates grabbed the sole national assembly and three provincial assembly seats of the district by defeating their rivals with a heavy margin.
On NA-27, the central chief of JUI Maulana Fazlur Rehman was declared winner by securing 84631 votes out of total 174492 polled votes. PML (N) candidate Salim Saifullah Khan remained runner up with 56075 voters.
Col (r) Ameerullah Khan of PTI and an independent candidate Muhammad Halim got 18168 and 4045 votes respectively.
Haji Anwar Hayat Khan of JUI-F won the provincial assembly seat of PK-74 (Lakki Marwat-I) by defeating PPP provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan. Hayat secured 24547 votes while Anwar Saifullah got 13706 votes.
In PK-75 (Lakki Marwat-II), Malik Noor Salim Khan of JUI-F was declared winner with 29821 votes followed by PPP provincial president Anwar Saifullah Khan who obtained 23130 votes.
Former MPA and JUI-F candidate Haji Munawar Khan Marwat retained his provincial assembly seat of PK-76 (Lakki Marwat-II) by obtaining 28505 votes. PML (N) candidate Akhtar Munir Marwat remained runner-up with 21515 votes.
Meanwhile, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s victory on three national assembly seats has brightened chances of by election on national assembly seat of NA-27 (Lakki Marwat).
Maulana Fazl contested elections on three national assembly seats in DI Khan, Tank and Lakki Marwat districts and won all of them.
According to sources, NA-27 (Lakki Marwat) is likely among the two national assembly constituencies where by elections will be held after Maulana decides to retain one national assembly seat.
