ISLAMABAD - The body of the deceased Ambassador of Norway Leif H. Larsen, who had died during the tragic helicopter accident on May 8 in Naltar, was flown from Islamabad to Oslo on Wednesday.

Lt. Gen (r) Abdul Quadir Baloch, Federal Minister for States and Frontiers Regions, and an officer of the Ministry of Foreign affairs are accompanying the mortal remains on a PIA flight.

A dignified ceremony, with guard of honour to pay respects to the deceased Ambassador was held at Noor Khan Airbase, Islamabad, before departure.

Meanwhile, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, visited embassies of Philippines, Norway, Indonesia and Malaysia to offer condolence over the deaths of Ambassador of Philippines Domingo D Lucenario Jr, Norwegian Ambassador Leif Larsen, and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors.

Expressing his profound condolence on the occasion, the Naval Chief said that the late Ambassadors of Philippines and Norway were great friends of Pakistan and like the entire nation; Pakistan Navy shares its grief with both the countries.

Admiral Zakaullah also paid tributes to the wives of Malaysian and Indonesian Ambassadors for their valuable contributions and supportive role and said that Pakistan stands by the brotherly countries in their time of sorrow.
