LAHORE - Justice James Joseph of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday called for reply from an SHO to a petition which seeks registration of an FIR against a veterinary doctor for allegedly taking like of pet cat by administering it wrong injections.
The judge issued notice on an application of Dr Atia Masood, assistant professor at University of the Punjab.
The petitioner through advocate Abdul Rasheed Qurshi contended that her cat fell ill and she called Dr Anees for its treatment. The doc injected wrong medicine which took her cat’s life, the petitioner added.
The petitioner said the doctor administered five injections and one drip to the ailing animal which was resulted in its death.
SC moved against MQM: A constitutional petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, Lahore Registry, to seek ban on Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) as well as restriction on telecasting and publishing speech of its Quaid Altaf Hussain, who at present is residing in London.
The petition has been filed by Barrister Zafarullah Khan inter alia contending that Altaf Hussain in a recently made speech to the people in Pakistan sought help for the Indian spy agency, RAW, besides maligning the Pakistan armed forces.
He says the speech of Altaf Hussain falls in the purview of high treason law of the country as such, a ban should be placed on his party MQM as well as on his addresses.
The petitioner has urged the court for a direction to the Election Commission to do the needful.
