As to the 500 letters that I have written in the last ten years, if only newspapers other than Daily The Nation had also printed the letters, a lot of the misgivings about Kalabagh dam would have been removed. It is only the media that can impart the necessary information for allaying the unfounded fears in the public mind. Until and unless the media, both print and electronic, are prepared to play a proactive role, Kalabagh dam will remain a dream. The tie appears to be between 'self interest and 'national interest. How to get through to the other national newspapers is the million dollar question. Sorry to say but my letters to other newspapers go straight to their waste paper baskets.
