Bomb kills two brothers in Quetta


QUETTA - Two brothers were killed and 10 people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were wounded, in a remote controlled bombing in Quetta on Thursday.
According to the police, the explosives were planted with a bicycle which was parked at Allamo Chowk on Airport Road which exploded when a patrolling vehicle of the FC was passing from there. Two brothers identified as Muhammad Rafiq and Sanaullah were killed on the sight while 10 others, including three FC personnel were wounded.
Police and other law enforcement agencies reached the site soon after the incident and moved the injured and dead bodies to the Combined Military Hospital and the QuettaCivil Hospital. An FC official told TheNation that three personal hawaldar Saifullah, hawaldar Qamar Riaz and constable Saeed were wounded, besides seven civilians.
He said the injured did not get any life threatening injury.The blast was so intensive that it damaged several nearby vehicles sand shops.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mir Zubair Mehmood said that the explosives were detonated through a remote controlled device weighing approximately 5kg. He said that the FC vehicle was the main target of the terrorists. He said that the police started investigation into the incident.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
