Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has observed that closure of the NRO implementation case has silenced those who propagated clash of institutions.

PM made these observations during his meeting with law minister Farooq H Naek who called on the former at the Prime Minister Secretariat to apprise him of the Supreme Court’s proceedings in the NRO implementation court case Wednesday.

Farooq Naek informed the Prime Minister that the Supreme Court had dropped charges of contempt against the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the NRO implementation.

The Prime Minister hailed the decision of the Supreme Court as “victory of justice”. The successful closure of the NRO implementation case will remove air of uncertainty and help create a conducive atmosphere during transition and facilitate smooth transfer of power by conducting free and impartial elections in the country, he observed.

The PM said that his government had fulfilled its commitment to abide by the decisions of the court in letter and spirit.

The PM expressed the confidence that all institutions would work harmoniously to ensure continuity of the system and strengthening of democracy in the country.
