LARKANA – Ongoing land dispute between Bhutto and Khuhro clans took an ugly turn when people of both sides exchanged firing near Pir Ghozo on Tuesday.

Fortunately no one was injured but due to the firing panic spread in nearby villages. Heavy contingent of police force led by DSP Naudero Imtiaz Domki reached the spot and the situation was brought under control, but the intermittent firing continued. Police also sent APC vehicle to the affected area.

Addressing a press conference, PML-N leader Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto, son of Nawab Mumtaz Bhutto, alleged that MNA Faryal Talpur has been patronising the Khuhro community which and police force is being used in this connection.

He said that they would fight legal battle in court about the revenue record and any falsification by the sitting rulers. He further said police officials are backing criminal activities and brawl between the communities in Katcha Bindi area. He warned the rulers and their supporters against any misconduct.

He said that a large number of police, in spite of protecting the poor, were supporting the criminals who used heavy arms and ammunitions to target the houses of poor farmers in Katcha area. The assailants damaged scores of houses, but no FIR has been reported so far. He further said that police pickets have been established in the area only to support the Khuhro community.

He said the government backed the Khuhro community and invited number of criminals of Khairpur, Larkana, Ghotki, Dadu and other areas to patronise the attack. Ameer Bakhsh said they would not bow before the MNA Faryal Talpur or any ruler, but face the legal course of action. The PML-N leader condemned the police and rulers’ attitude against the common men, and alleged the government has failed to protect the farmers.
