ISLAMABAD - Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira, has said that passage of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Bill by the National Assembly is a historic development.

Talking to journalists here on Tuesday, he said the unanimous adoption of the bill is testimony to the fact when it comes to constructive policies all parties join hands and demonstrate solidarity.

The Information Minister said the issue of missing persons in Balochistan is a critical one and government was making sincere efforts to resolve it. He said the issue has remained in focus of the government‚ the judiciary and media.

As for number of the missing persons‚ he said these are exaggerated figures but the relevant agencies of the Government have filed affidavits in the courts of law. He said if fact is narrated wrongly then these affidavits can be challenged at any point of time.
