ISLAMABAD- Rejecting Shoaib Suddle Commission, real estate tycoon Malik Riaz said on Tuesday said that Dr Arsalan Iftikhar should be treated like other citizens.

Talking to the media, after appearing before the commission, the former chief executive of Bahria Town said that he did not repose trust in the Suddle Commission and had pleaded it to stop its proceeding.

“Dr Arsalan should be given the same treatment by law as it gives to ordinary citizens”, he said adding that he was ready to appear before the Supreme Court but not before Shoaib Suddle. Malik Riaz alleged that Shoaib Suddle was being given extension in service under a deal.

Suddle Commission had summoned Malik Riaz through a notice. On Tuesday, Riaz appeared before the commission for the first time after several notices. The Supreme Court, reviewing its earlier order, had shifted the investigation of Dr Arsalan Case from National Accountability Bureau to a one-man commission.

Zahir Bokhari, counsel for Malik Riaz, refused to cooperate with Shoaib Suddle Commission, declaring its proceedings illegal.

Malik Riaz and his lawyer said that they were not expecting justice from the commission.

Bokhari said that the commission was not an institution, adding that its term had expired before October. He said all the proceedings of the commission from October 13 to Nov 6 were illegal.
