Masses to be sensitised on Hepatitis C



PESHAWAR - The Association of Physicians of Pakistani descent of North America (APPNA) and Islamic Relief USA (IR-USA) in collaboration with the Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, will organize a ‘Hepatitis C Awareness Day’ concerning Hepatitis C prevention, causes and treatment across major medical institutions and hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This day-long awareness and educational campaign would be held on November 29. According to details, the objective of organizing this day is to spread awareness regarding safe blood transfusion, proper medical waste disposal and disinfection through surgical tools while mobilizing masses in the efforts against the spread of Hepatitis C.
A press release issued by the KMU said that APPNA & IR-USA will provide educational material that consists of awareness posters, brochures, guidelines, workbooks and animated video messages.
Screening and awareness stalls will be set up on the premises of medical colleges, hospitals and educational institutions. Furthermore, medical students will arrange for interactive awareness sessions in localities, which are most vulnerable to Hepatitis C.
VC KMU Prof. Dr. Hafizullah has urged upon all interested participants and contributors to take part in this cause to spread awareness about Hepatitis C.
