SADIQABAD - The Punjab chief minister has said that PML-N’s alliance with PML-F will continue and his party will make seat-adjustment with the Functional League for the forthcoming general elections and name joint candidates with mutual consensus, during a meeting in Lahore. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was talking to PML-F Punjab President Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mehmood, Secretary Information Tariq Mehmood and notables from Cholistan in the Punjab capital.“The PML-N will take benefit of the experience and wisdom of Syed Ahmad Mehmood. The Functional League served the South Punjab people under the leadership of Mr Mehmood. Steps will be taken to provide healthcare facilities to the local people and to improve the condition of the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital of Sadiqabad. Teachers will be appointed on priority bases in the schools which are facing this shortage. The problems of Cholistan will also be resolved,” the chief minister assured the leaders. “To further improve law and order in Rahim Yar Khan district, the police will be provided with latest weapons, vehicles and the number policemen will also be increased.” The CM expressed the hope that the nation would reject thieves and looters through their votes and elect those who were serving the nation. “Mr Makhdoom is my brother and at every stage, the Functional League supported us. In any situation, they will not be ignored. For the upcoming election, decision regarding Rahim Yar Khan will be made after consultation with you (Mr Mehmood),” the CM assured the PML-F Punjab chief.  Mr Shahbaz said that his party-led Punjab government was working against corruption. “We always preferred good governance and merit across the province. Registration of fake cases and vindictive actions against anyone will not be tolerated,” he pledged. The CM discussed various issues regarding the general elections with the PML-F leaders and made a decision to name joint candidates in the district with mutual agreement in order to defeat the PPP candidates.Meanwhile, Mr Makhdoom informed the chief minister about the political situation in his region and the people’s problems particularly of Cholistan and Liaqatpur. He asked the CM to issue directive for resolution to the problems on priority bases. He also apprised the CM that Rana Tariq Mehmood has been name as PML-F candidate in PP-296 and also in other constituencies, his party would bring electable candidates and then decision would be made with consensus in the best public interest.   On the occasion, Rana Tariq informed the CM of the issues of Sadiqabad. He said that the THQ Hospital was in the shambles and provision of healthcare facilities to the local people was equal to nothing. Likewise, he added, the influential persons’ blue-eyed teachers   have been transferred to city schools and dozens of schools have been closed down due unavailability of teachers. At the end, the chief minister assured the participants that their problems would soon be addressed.
