LAHORE – A man shot dead his 20-year-old daughter in the main bazaar in Badami Bagh area, police said on Tuesday.
Nasira Bibi was on her way to a local news channel where she was employed when her father, Amanat Ali, ambushed her, shooting down her on the spot.

The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating.
The police have also registered a case against the killer on the complaint of Bushra Bibi, the mother of deceased.
Police investigators said that Bushra Bibi was divorced by the killer five years ago. Investigators believed that the killer disliked his daughter’s work.
“Her father has shot her dead. She was a nice and polite daughter. The killer is drunkard,” Bushra Bibi told The Nation with tears rolling down from her cheeks. She demanded the government order the police arrest her daughter’s killer and bring him to justice.
Trader killed: Extortionists shot dead a teen trader and wounded his two employees in the Data Darbar area as he resisted extortion, sources in police said on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses told the police that four gunmen appeared outside the auto spare-parts shop of 19-year-old Muhammad Rehman near Sardar Chappal Chowk and fired a volley of bullets, wounding Rehman and his two salesmen Faisal and Yasir critically.
They were raced up to hospital where Rehman died. The sources claimed that the deceased was being forced for extortion. However, the police claimed that the resident of Bilal Gunj, Rehman, was shot dead by four gunmen over a relationship dispute. When contacted, Data Darbar police in-charge said Muhammad Ali and Abdul Haq along with their two other accomplices fired shots at the shopkeeper over a relationship issue.
He also asserted that as per FIR both the deceased and the killers were relatives. The police have registered the case on the complaint of brother of the deceased and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
Junkie found dead: A 45-year-old man was recovered dead from Old Anarkali police area. Police said the man was lain dead near Jain Mandar Chowk as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body and told them by phone. According to the police, the man apparently, was a drug addict.
