FAISALABAD - A females’ hostel would be constructed by end of the current year with state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, said the vice chancellor. Addressing an inaugural ceremony of two-day funfair organised by Laboratory Girls High school on Tuesday, Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the hostel will provide comfortable residential facilities to 50 female students. Dr Khan was of the view that women’s empowerment was need of the hour and the UAF was striving for enabling women with entrepreneurial and vocational skills. He asked the students to equip themselves with modern technology regarding cooking, baking and other household skills.Dr Khalilur Rehman, the principal officer of Community College UAF, highlighted the main features of skill development and certificate programmes being offered by the college. He said that an American concept of modern education system was being introduced first time in Pakistan. LGHS Headmistress Mrs Tasneem Zubair said that the purpose of the funfair was to provide entertainment, household training and impart entrepreneurial skills to young schoolgirls. She said that on the second day, a cultural show would be held at UAF.
