Usman Dil Kabeer, brother of Noreen, while talking to The Nation on Wednesday said that Shehzad has no child, which was why he wanted third marriage. He said that Noreen suggested her husband to undergo some medical tests to ascertain as to why he could not become father. On this, Usman said Ajmad got infuriated and he locked her in a room and tortured Noreen daily. He said that he found his sister in critical condition when he visited her on Eid day and later shifted her to District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal where he said that her hands are to be amputated.
However, Usman said he refused and taken her sister to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad where doctors also referred her to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) Rawalpindi and then to Holy Family Hospital (HFH). However, doctors in HFH after hectic efforts saved her from hand amputation.
"Noreen is still in hospital where doctors said she will take few more weeks to recover," he added.
He also alleged that her brother-in-law Shehzad is threatening the family with dire consequences if lodging FIR against him and highlighting the issue in media.
He said the accused was produced in court on November 12. The judge after hearing the arguments of both lawyers dismissed Shehzad's bail. However, Shehzad escaped before the announcement of decision, according to Usman, the police suggested him to escape before the judge order his arrest.
He alleged that the investigation officer Sub-Inspector Tahir of Lawa police station, district Chakwal did not record the real statement what his sister told him and produced fake statement in the court. IO Tahir, when contacted, said he declared the accused guilty of committing crime and the court rejected his bail. He rebuffed all the allegation levelled against him by the family of Noreen.
