RAWALPINDI - Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that a strict action would be taken against those who throw solid waste and garbage in Nullah Leh.

Cases would also be registered against those who despite of repeated warnings found involved in dumping garbage and causing un-cleanliness. He added that they could safeguard ourselves from dengue and other diseases by observing hygienic principles, neatness and precautionary measures.

Raja stated this while presiding a meeting of Dengue Control Committee in Commissioner Office Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Khalid Masood Chaudhry, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dall, politicians Malik Ibrar Ahmed, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Malik Shakeel Awan, Begum Tahira Aurangzeb, Seema Jilani, Sardar Nasim, Dr Jamal Nasir, Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal, Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate, Haji Umar Farooq, Zia Ullah Shah, Chaudhry Ayaz, Zaib-un-Nisa Awan, Tehseen Fawad, Lubna Rehan, Malik Iftikhar, Sobia Iram Satti, Engineer Qamar ul Islam and Haji Pervaiz Khan attended the meeting. The minister said that that Rawal and Potohar Town and administration of Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Boards should continue lifting of solid waste from all Nullahs and floor-depots regularly and dumping the same at the land-fill site.
