LAHORE - FIA Thursday arrested two people and recovered huge quantity of foreign fake currency from their possession, said Director FIA Punjab Dr Usman Anwar at his office.

He said that FIA received information that Muhammad Nadeem of Bhati Chowk and Muhammad Asif of Mohni Road were involved in manufacturing of fake Pakistani and foreign currency, degrees, certificates and other security documents. The director constituted a raiding team headed by Assistant Director Mian Asif Ali and asked them to take action.

Raiding team conducted raid on a shop in Bhatti Chowk where Nadeem was apparently running a book shop. The team recovered huge quantity of foreign currency including, US dollars, Dirham, Rayals, Ringets and currency of certain other countries.  

The team also recovered incomplete printed currency from his possession and arrested him red-handed. Muhammad Asif was arrested from Mohni Road. Among other fake things recovered from their possession included degrees of University of Punjab, stamp papers, duty tickets, arms licences and BISE certificates.
