LAHORE - Rijas defeated Lahore Chatkhara in a nail-biting finish by eight goals to seven in the Treet Polo Cup 2014 match played here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Thursday.

In this action-packed match, Lahore Chatkhara struck thrice in the first chukker through Agha Musa Ali Khan who scored a field goal with an under the neck pass of Shah Shamyl Alam, Bilal Hayat Noon scored by his solo efforts and Shah Shamyl Alam converting a spot penalty near goal posts while Omar Asjad Malhi reduced the margin by scoring one goal by converting a 40 yards penalty hit. In the second chukker, Shamyl scored a goal from the centre of the ground while Agha converted a field goal by his solo efforts and placed their team in a comfortable position. Omar scored yet another goal to reduce the margin.

The third chukker belonged to Rijas where they scored four goals through Omar, Atif Tiwana and Aleem Tiwana while Shamyl contributed one for the losing side. In the start of the last chukker, Atif Tiwana scored a spot penalty near goal posts and placed the team up on the score board. Shamyl scored and settled the books on the scoreboard. In the dying moment of the last chukker, Faisal Shahzad scored a field goal after a long chase and registered a victory in favour of team Rijas. The match was supervised by Saqib Khan Khakwani and Irfan Sheikh.
