LAHORE - Pebble Breakers overpowered Sherwood by 8-4 in the Seasons Canola Polo Cup 2016 main final played here at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Sunday.

Treet Corporation CEO Syed Shahid Ali Shah was chief guest at the final while LPC president Irfan Ali Hyder, Seasons Canola brand ambassador Syed M Raza Termizi, assistant brand manager Ibtessam Haider, Season Canola orgainser Rehan Qureshi along polo enthusiasts were also present at the final.

Man-of-the-match Ahmed Ali Tiwana and Mustafa Khan Khosa scored a hat-trick each while Mustafa Monno contributed a brace. From the losing side, Hissam Ali Hyder scores three goals.

After winning the final, Ahmed Tiwana said: “I am very glad with my performance. Our team played like a unit which resulted in title triumph.”

In the subsidiary final, Guard Group/Oye Hoye, having half goal handicap advantage, defeated Rijas by 8½-7 to earn the third position.

Saqib Khan was star of the day for Guard Group as he played outstanding polo and slammed superb seven goals while Emran Akhtar hit one. From Rijas, Omer Asjad Malhi converted five goals while Asif Zahoor and Agha Murtaza contributed one goal apiece.
