ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party Member National Assembly Dr Nafisa Shah Monday demanded of chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the incident in Dera Ismail Khan in which a woman was maltreated some days ago.
In a statement, Dr Shah said that this shameful incident took place in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa where the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf runs the provincial government but it was ironic that Imran Khan was totally silent over this despicable incident because one “PTI minister is supporting the culprits.”
Imran Khan, she said, was not ready to even listen to his own party lawmakers regarding this incident.
Before this incident, the PTI government “protected” the real killer of a student Mashal Khan and “helped” the culprits flee the country, she alleged.
Dr Shah said that the PPP would not allow the shameful incident to die down and would raise the issue in the National Assembly and the Senate for the family of the victim girl.
Corruption and crime are the hall-mark of the PTI government of Imran Khan in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Nafisa Shah said.
Meanwhile, on Monday, PPP leader Saeed Ghani alleged that the people of Sindh regard Mumtaz Bhutto as a “villain”.
In response to Mumtaz Bhutto joining the PTI, Saeed Ghani said that Mumtaz Bhutto’s party comprised father and son and its merger with the PTI meant nothing in the political arena of Pakistan. He said that the people of Sindh always had doubts on the character of Mumtaz Bhutto as he had been a “dodgy person and a conspirator”.
