President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday said that the government is committed to provide all basic facilities like health, education, clean drinking water and maintenance of law and order to Balochistan.
During his day-long visit to the province, President Alvi stressed that the provision of basic facilities to Balochistan is among the top priorities of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.
Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai also called on the president in Quetta and briefed him regarding overall law and order situation in the province and government’s efforts to improve quality of life.
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Faisal Vawda were accompanying the president.
Security has been beefed-up in Quetta in the wake of President’s visit to avoid any untoward situation.
The president also offered condolences to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Muhammad Qasim Suri, who hails from Balochistan, on the sad demise of his mother. It may be recalled that mother of Qasim Suri passed away on November 11 after a long battle with cancer.
