LAHORE (PR) - Inauguration ceremony of the ADB Programme was held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Honourable Secretary elementary and secondary school was the chief guest in the ceremony. Director DCTE, Atta Ullah said in his welcome address that we are launching two types of programmes at DCTE level for the promotion of education: He said we have trained more than 20,000 on the job teachers with the help of donors but we have concluded that the number of teachers which we have trained is just 20pc of the total number of teachers. The curriculum of the teachers is different from that of the school. There is huge difference between the teachers training material and their teaching curriculum. Chief Guest of the program, Secretary Education, Fareed Paracha said that education is the key to our development. Only those countries achieve their development goals who allocate higher proportion of their GDP for the promotion of education. He declared guess papers and guides as the biggest reason for the decline in the quality of education and stressed the teachers to inculcate a sense of commitment and hard work among students. College Principal, Shah Hasan thanked the participants said, we are thankful to USAID for awarding 100 scholarships for this programme.
