LAHORE (PR) - The Representative Convention Punjab of All Pakistan Irrigation Labour Federation was held Wednesday at Bukhtiar Labour Hall, Lahore, under the presidentship of Khushi Muhammad Khokhar, president of the federation, which was attended by trade union representatives of the federation from all the districts of Punjab and the local members of the federation. They demanded for implementation of accepted demands of the workers, restoration of the withheld benefits, acceptance of just demands of the workers and provision of cycles and motorcycles to the workers. The convention was addressed by Ch Khushi Muhammad Khokhar, president of the federation, Khurshid Ahmad, General Secretary Pakistan Workers Federation and others. They demanded restoration of Irrigation Scrap Tubewells and construction of Kalabagh Dam in the national interest. They also demanded for immediate payment of salaries of the workers of Mankera Canal Division, T O D Khanpur and Central Store Division, Lahore. They also demanded to include the adhoc allowances in the basic salaries of the workers, revise the basic scales commensurate with price hike, grant big city allowance to the workers at Multan and adjust the remaining tube wells operators according to the policy and grant promotion to the deserving employees.
