PFF clears Afzal

LAHORE PFF lifted ban and cleared Pakistan Air Forces midfielder Afzal-Ur-Rehman to play Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match against KPT today (Thursday) at Qayyum Stadium near Saddar Bara Road, Peshawar Cantt (3:30 pm). Afzal, 25, served two-match ban for not keeping discipline on the field during PAF 's home against PIA on October 7, 2010. He was found guilty of misbehaving with the referee and clearly violated the PPFL technical regulations (article 15xi - p) which states that if any team found guilty of disrespecting the opponents, referees and others officials then the officials and the player will be punished with a fine of Rs 5,000 or suspend for one to six matches or both punishments as recommended by the match commissioner. Jersey number 6, Afzal had been ejected for two matches as he was responsible for the disrespect of the PFF-appointed technical official and FIFA referee Muhammad Ali Jr. Afzal was limited to spectators zone when PAF opposed KESC (Oct 9) and NBP (Oct 12) at Qayyum Stadium. Afzal managed to get two goals in previous edition but yet to open his account in ongoing event as PAF, currently eight in the table, managed only six goals in nine matches with Muhammad Mujahid getting two goals while Muhammad Zeeshan, Amir Khan, Muhammad Farooq, Arif Nawaz getting one goal each.
