Awan urges SC to take up cases according to turn

ISLAMABAD - Former law minister Babar Awan on Thursday endorsed the provincial bar councils demand that Supreme Court should take up the cases according to their turn. He was talking to media persons at the Supreme Court building after holding meeting with the members of inter-provincial bar councils committee. Pakistan Peoples Party leader said that the SC administration should fix those cases first, that have been filed earlier. He said if the court takes up cases on their turn then the negative impression regarding fixation cases would be dispelled. Babar also recommended that every lawyer should be entitled to get Supreme Court license after five years therefore rules should be amended on the matter. He also said that he would start his visits in provincial bars from next week. He also supported the demand of bar councils that vacancies of judges in high courts and Supreme Court should fill up soon. The PPP leader also stated that Kashmiri lawyers should be allowed to appear in Pakistani courts.
