Peshawar The two-member bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday directed Political Agent Khyber Agency to appear before the court and explain the legal position for arresting two minors from a school at Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency. Shan Bibi, resident of Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency, filed a writ petition in PHC stating that her two minor sons, Syed Azeem, 12, and Syed Ijaz, 11, were picked up from their school at Bara on January 1, 2010 by the security agencies. She added that since that day their whereabouts have been unknown. The applicant requested the court to direct the political agent and school administration to recover her children. The court while taking action on the petition issued notice to the school Principal to appear before the court and clarify his position in this regard. On Thursday the school Principal appeared before the court and stated that a group of Khasadars of the Khyber Agency, sent by Political Agent, came to their school and took the custody of both the brothers. The bench comprising Justice Dost Mohammed Khan and Justice Fasihul Mulk after examining the statement of the school principal issued notice to Political Agent and ordered to appear before the court and inform the court about the whereabouts of the minor brothers. The court also allowed three weeks deadline to the interior ministry for clarifying their position in this regard. Meanwhile another divisional bench granted 14-day time to interior ministry in another missing person case. A writ petition was filed by Gulnaz Bibi, wife of Syed Akber Shah, resident of Badrashai, Nowshera, complaining that her son Syed Kamran Shah was arrested by the security forces on January 26, 2010. She said that since that date her son has neither been release nor he has been produced before any court. She appealed to the court to direct the security agencies to release her son.
