PPSC head tells Khosa of heavy load

LAHORE - Punjab Public Service Commission Chairman Lt Gen (r) Syed Sabahat Hussain called on Punjab Governor Latif Khosa at Governor House on Thursday and discussed various matters relating to higher education. Sabahat pointed out that all the universities should lay down a time frame to issue degrees, so that students applying for government jobs could apply well in time. He also proposed that universities ought to adopt either annual system or semester system so that the elements of uniformity in examination could be ensured. The PPSC Chairman also apprised the Governor Punjab about the working of Punjab Public Service Commission, citing the receiving of 15,0,000 applications for 2,300 posts of lecturers in Grade 17 and said despite heavy load of applications the PPSC was working day and night to complete the selection process and transparency was being ensured. On this occasion, the Governor said that PPSC should inculcate and instill in the minds of candidates that civil servants loyalties should be with the state. He hoped that PPSC would uphold its policy of across the board merit. The Governor assured the PPSC Chairman that matters of uniformity in examination would be taken up at federal government level.
